Brief
As the UX designer of the ACMD Development team, we were tasked with creating a website to help users explore the outdoor lifestyle around the Buffalo River in Arkansas. We also wanted to share the various activities within the area while allowing users to make early plans for future visits.
How can we create a platform for users who enjoy outdoor activities to easily access, research, and make reservations for plans at the Buffalo River Destination?
Goals

Allow users to make reservations through the site.

Reservations
Our client's initial idea was to have the users fill out a traditional form. However, we presented a better solution that limited the amount of actions users had to do to make reservations. This approach cut down on the extensive user flow and also allowed users to make reservations by simply selecting, reviewing, and submitting.
Reflection
Being able to participate in this project as a UX designer has allowed me to develop my understanding of visual design, navigation, and user experience. Since our clients asked for a user-friendly navigation system, we wanted to limit the number of actions that users had to engage with in order to complete a task. Even after finishing the prototype design, we still made many changes to our final website. For example, we implemented a 3rd party reservations program into our reservations page for easier booking instead of having users fill out an actual form. Overall, receiving feedback from both our users and clients helped us improve our final design outcome.
