Brief:
The UALR Mapping Renewal is a site used to digitize important historical materials in Arkansas, such as archives from urban renewal projects in major cities. It aims to preserve historical records documenting the impact urban renewal had on many African-American communities. The main purpose of this platform is to help visitors understand the complex history of Arkansas’s urban landscapes through the use of an interactive map.
This project received grants totaling $375,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and has partnered with The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Center for Arkansas History and Culture (CAHC) to deliver this product. The design and development team gave the green light to proceed with the next design iteration. Therefore, my team and I were tasked with delivering a usability report to help move forward with this next phase.
