Brief

As a final project for my typography class, I chose to redesign a menu from one of my favorite sushi restaurants called Kemuri. It’s a modern Japanese restaurant that specializes in making sushi rolls. The interior is very sleek and modern so I used that as inspiration for the new design.

Problem

I identified many issues with the original menu such as the uneven layout, inconsistent spacing, and a scattered composition. My ultimate goal was to retain the list format that they had originally, while also slightly expanding and utilizing the content to make the design more appealing. I wanted these new elements to guide the viewer so that they’re aware and can easily spot important notes such as ingredients, food allergies, and other information regarding special menu items.
